Saints First-Round Targets

Matt Corral, QB (Ole Miss)

This feels like a pipe dream at this point, as the Saints probably won’t have a good enough draft spot to land Matt Corral, who’s propelled himself into the top quarterback prospect for the 2022 NFL Draft.

This isn’t a good year to need a quarterback and Corral definitely isn’t No. 1 overall worthy, at least not yet. He’s looked very good for the Rebels, however, tossing for 1,913 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just one interception through seven games while dashing for another 474 yards and nine scores with his legs.

Corral is the kind of quarterback Sean Payton dreams of having but it’s going to be tough to leapfrog enough teams to land the Ole Miss signal-caller.

As mentioned above, Corral probably isn’t going No. 1 overall but he’s also not going to last until wherever the Saints are picking, especially if they’re drafting where the other playoff teams are drafting. Teams like the Texans, Lions, Football Team, etc. will be eyeing Corral and might do whatever it takes to get him in their team’s uniform.
