If there’s one position that’s in desperate need of an upgrade for the New Orleans Saints, it’s at wide receiver. Monday night’s win over Seattle showed just how horrible the Saints wide receiver situation is, as the unit totaled four catches for 43 yards with 32 of those yards coming from Marquez Callaway.

If the Saints want to have any shot at making a playoff run this winter, the wide receiver position has to be better. New Orleans will get Michael Thomas back in the next few weeks (hopefully) but he’s not going to be enough to turn this unit around. Tre’Quan Smith isn’t the WR2 we were hoping he’d be (I know he had just one rough game, but he’s proven he’s not WR2 material) and Callaway is WR3 on most teams’ rosters.

New Orleans has to take action and trade for a wide receiver but with their lack of funds and lack of draft capital, their best bet might be to go for impending free agents that wouldn’t be in the Big Easy past this season. That’s because NOLA wouldn’t be able to afford to extend them but they’d get the most bang for their buck in the final few months of the 2021 season.

Let’s kick off the list with a guy who has risen to fame in the Mile High city.
