Loser: Adam Trautman

The final loser for this week’s edition of “Winners and Losers” is none other than tight end, Adam Trautman. It’s unfortunate too, as Trautman was on his way to the best game of his career before coughing up the football and giving the ball to Seattle.

Before that, Trautman had a couple of key receptions and finished the night with three grabs for 36 yards including a long of 15 yards. He was trending up before the fumble but that tanked his stock.

The Seahawks ended up knocking through a field goal as a result of that fumble, which could have honestly been the dagger for New Orleans had Jason Myers not missed two field goals. It was one of those games where even just the one turnover could have been the deciding factor and Trautman deserves blame for the mistake.

I suppose I could also have included “Those of us who watched the game” in the losers category too because I sure didn’t feel like a winner watching that dumpster fire of a game.

Fortunately, this game went to the NOLA Saints, and they’re now 4-2 with a huge game on the horizon, as Tampa Bay heads to the Big Easy. The Saints swept the Bucs during the regular season last year but Tampa had the last laugh, knocking NOLA out of the playoffs and going on to win the Super Bowl.

Let’s prove this defense is for real when those annoying Bucs come to town next week.
