The Saints haven’t had much of a pass rush and that’s why they’ll be looking for someone to get after the quarterback on the trade market. I mentioned how the Lions aren’t going anywhere this season and they’ll definitely be selling off pieces as the deadline inches nearer.

Trey Flowers is someone that the Saints should be very interested in for a variety of reasons. He’s versatile and already has more sacks in six games this season than all but one member of the Saints (Tanoh Kpassagon has two, Flowers has 1.5). This would make it hard not to want to see Flowers in black and gold for the duration of the season.

Not only that, but Flowers has two years remaining on his initial five-year $90 million contract that he inked back in 2019. The Saints wouldn’t just have a dominant pass-rusher this year, but he’d be under contract through the end of 2023.

As far as finding pass-rushers go, Trey Flowers would be one of the best options out there and could instantly make the Saints’ defense better.

The Saints have a few more games to decide if they should buy or sell but it’s trending as though they’ll be buyers. If so, these three players would make them better.
