Demario Davis has been owning the Saints’ LB room so far this season, but he can’t do it alone. Fellow LB Kwon Alexander’s return to the lineup should pad New Orleans’ defense that much more.

The Saints placed Alexander on injured reserve after he suffered an elbow injury in Week 1 against the Packers, but he may return as soon as Week 7.

Alexander recorded two tackles and played 60 percent of defensive snaps against the Packers and he’s been a dynamic force in the Saints’ defense ever since joining this offseason.

The seventh-year pro is currently is enjoying his second year at NOLA and has established chemistry with Davis already.

As well as rookie Pete Werner has played recently, the Saints need more dependable options as the season progresses, and Alexander is as reliable as they come.

In 2020, Alexander started and played seven games for the Saints, recording four passes defended, one quarterback hit, and 27 combined tackles.

His best season might have been in 2017 when he earned a Pro Bowl with Tampa Bay, but he’s still got plenty of man-to-man coverage left in him. A linebacker tandem of Davis and Alexander makes us feel much, much more confident about the Saints’ D.
