Saints: 3 contending teams that could use Michael Thomas
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Without a doubt, the team that could use Michael Thomas the most is the Kansas City Chiefs. It might seem odd to some given how explosive the Chiefs’ offense has been since Patrick Mahomes took over at quarterback, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find that outside of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, there’s not much to fear on that side of the ball in KC.
The Chiefs did take a flier on Josh Gordon but the jury is still out on if that move will end up going smoothly or blowing up in their faces. Mecole Hardman hasn’t been the guy KC was hoping for and Demarcus Robinson is nothing more than a WR4. Needless to say, Kansas City could certainly use Thomas in their offense.
It hasn’t been a smooth start to the season for the Chiefs either, as they’re 2-3 and in last place in their division. No one truly believes that the Chiefs are bad by any means but with the Chargers surging and the KC defense floundering, this team needs to do whatever it can to win games down the stretch.
If they can’t improve their defense, the offense needs to be better, and adding Thomas would do the trick. He’d be a lot of fun to watch in that Kansas City offense and Chiefs fans would salivate at the thought of Thomas in red and yellow.
At this point, the Saints might opt to hold onto Michael Thomas moving forward but it wouldn’t be all bad if they did decide to part ways with him. Saving money could go a long way for this organization and the extra draft picks could land them a younger and cheaper receiver for the future.
If NOLA did decide to trade Thomas, however, these three teams could make the most sense.
