After Wil Lutz landed on IR during the preseason, the NOLA Saints added Aldrick Rosas to fill their temporary kicking needs. Rosas struggled, so in came Cody Parkey. Well, after one game in a Saints uniform, Parkey has also found himself on IR.

Back to the kicking well the Saints will go.

The good news is that Lutz appears to be on track to return as early as Week 7, per Mike Triplett. New Orleans has a BYE this week, so that gives the team an extra week to figure out what’s going to happen at the position.

NOLA Saints might have to find yet another kicker.

If Lutz isn’t ready to return in Week 7, the Saints will be forced to sign their third kicker of the 2021 season. Fans were wanting the team to swipe Jake Verity off of the Ravens’ practice squad but that never ended up happening, perhaps because Lutz was bound to return soon.

Kicking has been an issue for the Saints without Lutz and that’s why fans can’t wait to see him return to the lineup. He’s been one of the most clutch kickers in the league and while not having him has been painful, rushing him back from injury would be a terrible idea for this team.

Next. What We Learned in Week 5. dark

Rosas didn’t work out for the Saints and Parkey couldn’t stay healthy. It’s been that kind of year for this team but hopefully, we’ll see Lutz back on the field sooner rather than later.
