4. Bradley Roby

When the Saints made a trade for Texans cornerback Bradley Roby, it appeared that they had their CB2 of the 2021 season. Pairing Roby with Marshon Lattimore seemed like the best possible move for this team, as their cornerback position was weak and they needed someone better than rookie Paulson Adebo to fill in at that spot.

Well, Roby is a disappointment so far because the Saints haven’t given him a ton of playing time, continuing to let Adebo get the majority of the snaps.

Roby received the most amount of snaps in his first game back in Week 2, appearing in 51% of the defensive snaps, but to be fair, a lot of players were injured for that one so it’d have been a real concern if Roby wasn’t used much that week. Since then, however, Roby’s appeared in 3% (Week 3), 32% (Week 4), and 24% (Week 5) of the snaps.

Yes, Adebo has snagged a couple of interceptions but NOLA traded for Roby to have him in that role. He’s a proven cornerback in this league and it’s baffling why he isn’t playing more. It’s not his fault that he’s listed here as a disappointment but the trade has been disappointing since it hasn’t necessarily been handled correctly.
