2. Adam Trautman has over 50 yards receiving

It’s sad that 50 yards receiving is considered ‘bold’ for the guy who was supposed to be the starting tight end but Adam Trautman’s career has been a bust to this point. He’s helped out with blocking but the Saints drafted him on Day 2 last year so that he could step into the starting tight end role that has now been left vacant by Jared Cook.

Trautman has just four catches on the year for a measly 21 yards so getting 50 yards in a game would be a welcomed sight for New Orleans. The former Dayton product has yet to have a game in which he went over the 50-yard mark.

No one held that against him last year since Cook was still on the roster and Josh Hill was still on the team as well but both of those guys are gone now. Trautman has to prove that he was worthy of being a third-round pick and a 50+ yard receiving game would be a nice start.

To this point, Juwan Johnson has been the better tight end and if Trautman doesn’t have a big game in the next few weeks, he might lose the job permanently moving forward. He finally strikes it big in this game but will it last?
