3. NOLA Saints should trade for Denzel Mims

The Jets have more receivers than they know what to do with and Denzel Mims is a prime example of that.

Who Dat Dish’s Justin Fried discussed the possibility of NOLA targeting Mims a few weeks ago and it’s something that would pay dividends for both sides. The Saints need a receiver and the Jets need draft picks to continue rebuilding their team. If they’re not going to use Mims, why keep him around? Cut ties with him and let him get a fresh start elsewhere.

Mims, a second-round pick out of Baylor just a year ago, has appeared in just 11 games over the course of the past year and some change, catching just 24 receptions for 397 yards. That’s not the kind of production a team expects out of a second-round pick.

The Jets have been imminent that they won’t be trading Mims but at this point — Why wouldn’t they? Corey Davis and Elijah Moore are on the roster and the Jets could use all of the draft capital they can get.

Mims wouldn’t get ignored in New Orleans and if the Saints could work out a trade for the former Baylor Bear, they’d have him under club control through at least the end of the 2023 season. This would be an incredibly smart move for the black and gold.
