The NOLA Saints need a wide receiver and they need one soon. Yes, Michael Thomas will be returning in the coming weeks but that won’t be enough to give this offense the much-needed boost that will make New Orleans a contender.

The rest of the position looks consists of Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harris, Chris Hogan, Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Ty Montgomery, and Kenny Stills but a few of those guys will get bumped once Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith are eligible to return.

That group isn’t very daunting and the lack of offensive production in the first four games has been a major result of not having any reliable receivers on the team. Smith hasn’t been available in these first four games but he’s been someone who’s disappointed to this point anyway, so his return isn’t going to save the offense by any means.

Like Smith, Thomas coming back isn’t going to be enough for this group. They need several dependable receivers and it’s time to go out and trade for one. That way, they could pair Thomas with whoever they add via trade, and maybe — just maybe — the Saints’ offense would be firing on all cylinders once again.

Let’s take a look at four wide receivers New Orleans could trade for before the deadline arrives.
