2. No targets to Kamara?!

Part of what makes Alvin Kamara such a deadly weapon in this Saints offense is that he has the ability to crush teams both on the ground and through the air. This week, however, New Orleans only utilized him in the run game, giving him 26 carries.

Now, it’s worth noting that Kamara had an awesome game and made the most of those 26 carries, which went for 120 yards. He still didn’t find the end zone, however, and he’s yet to do so on the ground so far.

Kamara is so elusive and NOLA’s offense benefits from using him in both the run and receiving game. He didn’t get a single target in the overtime loss and that can’t happen, not with how good the former Offensive Rookie of the Year is when the ball is in his hands. He makes guys miss and that’s a spark this offense needed on Sunday.

If the Saints want to stop flip-flopping each week, they need to get Kamara more involved in the passing game. Good things happen when he’s targeted as a pass-catcher.
