Maybe the New Orleans Saints are an odd-numbered week team. At least that appears to be the case after they put up another stinker in their Week 4 loss to the Giants.

NOLA was on pace to win this game pretty convincingly but ended up allowing the Giants to tie things up in the final minute of regulation. The defense, still gassed from that final drive, couldn’t stop the G-Men offense in overtime and Saquon Barkley scampered in for the score, handing New York their first win of the season.

It was a crushing defeat for the Saints and we certainly learned a lot from it. Let’s take a look at a few things we learned about this team after they dropped to 2-2.

Pete Werner looking good

It’s only been two games but Pete Werner has made all of us take notice of his stellar play. The Ohio State product missed the first two games of the season but has made his first two career games count.

Werner was second in total tackles on Sunday with 10 (trailing Malcolm Jenkins’ 12) and was flying all over the field. He made mistakes here and there but that’s not uncommon with a rookie linebacker appearing in just his second NFL game.
