After a 2-1 start, the New Orleans Saints return to the friendly confines of the Caesars Superdome for the first time since Week 2 of the preseason. Hurricane Ida prevented the black and gold from opening their season at home but they’ll get to play in front of Who Dat Nation this Sunday when the winless New York Giants come to town.

It hasn’t been a pretty start for the G-Men and they’ll have their work cut out for them this Sunday against a Saints defense that’s been feasting. New York’s defense is pretty good as well so this is a game that could be fairly low-scoring.

Let’s check out how Madden sees this game playing out.

Madden Simulation – New Orleans Saints 27, New York Giants 17

Saints Stats

  • Jameis Winston – 13-of-19, 198 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
  • Alvin Kamara – 16 carries, 102 yards; 3 rec, 67 yards, TD
  • Marquez Callaway – 3 rec, 82 yards
  • Deonte Harris – Rec, 3 yards, TD
  • Demario Davis – 13 tackles
  • Cameron Jordan – Sack
  • Marshon Lattimore – INT
  • Malcolm Jenkins – INT (Pick Six)

Giants Stats

  • Daniel Jones – 22-of-36, 229 yards, TD, 2 INT
  • Saquon Barkley – 11 carries, 34 yards, TD
  • Kenny Golladay – 4 rec, 26 yards, TD
  • Leonard Williams – 2 sacks
  • James Bradberry – INT
  • Logan Ryan – INT

This would be a popular outcome for Saints fans, as they’d win by double-digits and the defense would have put up yet another smothering performance.

Winston still doesn’t go over the 200-yard mark in this one and throws two picks but he puts up a season-high number of 198 yards through the air while tossing two scores. Kamara leads the way on offense here, tallying 169 yards from scrimmage with a touchdown on the day.

Defensively, Jenkins gets another pick-six, this time off of Daniel Jones, who throws two interceptions on the day. Barkley finds the end zone but it’s not a tremendous performance from the former No. 2 overall pick.
