Bad news travels fast, and most are already aware of New Orleans Saints’ left tackle Terron Armstead’s elbow injury that will keep him sidelined for several weeks.

The only good news is that his injury isn’t threatening. Will the Saints survive without him? Technically, yes, they have a capable backup in veteran James Hurst, but we’re still not terribly confident about this O-line.

Ryan Ramczyk is great. Cesar Ruiz and Andrus Peat have their good days. But remember, the O-line has one of the toughest challenges in 2021: protecting Jameis Winston. By “protecting” we mean giving him enough time to throw so that he doesn’t desperately heave it again.

The linemen will also be tasked with blocking for Alvin Kamara, who had a slow start but should dominate the Saints’ running game this season.

Those are two of arguably the most important players on the team, and if New Orleans’ offensive line starts to falter, you can bet Winston and Kamara will struggle, too.

The Saints already have enough offensive problems in their wide receiver room, so this is one issue they really don’t want to worry about. Why not shell some dough for that extra insurance and peace of mind?

Here are three offensive tackles that New Orleans should bring on to upgrade their O-line, at least until Armstead comes back.
