After injuries derailed Week 2, the New Orleans Saints are at near-full strength this week. The New England Patriots, however, are missing a key ingredient for their Week 3 showdown with the black and gold; most notably, Trent Brown.

Brown was listed as inactive for Sunday’s game and this opens a huge door for Cameron Jordan, as he’ll get to go up against the backup right tackle in Foxborough.

Justin Herron is listed as the backup right tackle on the Patriots’ depth chart but Yasir Durant, a former tackle at Missouri, could be an option to fill in there as well. Either way, Jordan has to be licking his chops at what could open up for him during this game.

Cameron Jordan is poised for a monster game with Trent Brown out.

Jordan has yet to record a sack through two games this season and has seven total tackles with two quarterback hits. He didn’t have to be a star in Week 1 due to how big of a blowout that ended up being but NOLA could have used him, or anyone really, stepping up in Week 2.

Brown has been banged up the past few years, starting just five games for the Raiders last year. He’s started just one game for New England this year and was on their roster in 2018. He’s a one-time Pro Bowler and a good right tackle, so not having him across from Jordan is huge and gives NOLA’s defense a big advantage.

The Saints need every advantage they can get for this one and Jordan is poised for a big game, as he’s been quiet in the first two matchups for New Orleans. This is his chance to really eat.
