New Orleans Saints versus Carolina: Scouting 3 Panthers who could be key
By Jonny Camer
Hopefully, the Saints did their research this week.
After a dominant week, one win against the Green Bay Packers, the New Orleans Saints look to keep that up against the Carolina Panthers. Divisional games are never easy, but they’re even more challenging when facing a hungry and competitive team.
The Panthers have many bright spots on their team and will look to use those players to win the ball game. Below are the three panthers who could cause the most problems against the Saints
D.J. Moore is someone the Saints have to worry about.
The fierce deep threat wideout will look to have a big game against the Saints. D.J. Moore is one of the better deep threats in the game. Coming off a solid game where he hauled in 6 passes for 80 yards. Moore has a solid history when facing the Saints. In five games, Moore has 21 catches, 413 yards, and four touchdowns.
On top of this star corner, Marshon Lattimore is recovering from a thumb injury. This will limit his ability to be physical against the star wideout. Moore has been an excellent red-zone target when facing the Saints, and it will be necessary to limit his red-zone targets in this upcoming game. If New Orleans is unable to do so, it could lead to a rough game for the Saints.
The positive in all of this is that this team is coming off a heck of a win where the defense looked dominant. This included stopping star Packers wide receiver, Davante Adams, who is arguably a more dominant receiver than Moore.
If the team can bring that same level of play, Moore can be easily held in check.
