Saints bold predictions vs. Panthers

1. Christian McCaffrey is held to under 100 total yards

You’d never have known that Christian McCaffrey missed all but three games last year after the performance he put up last week against the Jets. McCaffrey totaled 187 total yards in his first game since November of last year and looked like the same ol’ offensive weapon he’s been throughout his career.

New Orleans avoided having to face McCaffrey last year but they know all too well what the Heisman Trophy nominee can do when the ball is in his hands. The last time they faced him was in the 2019 season finale and McCaffrey balled out, totaling 97 yards and a touchdown. He’s not a player to take lightly.

The Saints will obviously make sure to double-team McCaffrey when they can and with how well they played against Aaron Rodgers and that ferocious Packers offense, this group is absolutely up to the task of limiting the Panthers weapon to under 100 yards. As I mentioned, the last time they faced him, they were able to do just that.

Holding McCaffrey to under triple-digits is a tough task but if any defense is able to slow him down, it’s the Saints.
