1. Tennessee Titans

Typically, the Saints wouldn’t face the Titans this year but due to the extra game in 2021, they get the winner of the AFC South, which was the Titans.

Well — Tennessee looked awful in their season opener, which was also their home opener. The Titans got curb-stomped by the visiting Arizona Cardinals 38-13. Yikes.

The Titans’ defense apparently forgot to show up, allowing Kyler Murray to throw for four touchdowns with two of those going to DeAndre Hopkins. Ryan Tannehill and the Titans offense did what they could but the o-line was atrocious, allowing Chandler Jones to feast on Tannehill with five sacks. Tannehill was sacked six times in total.

Arizona provided the blueprint of how to destroy the Titans and while the Saints won’t face them for a while, they have the tools to expose this team even further. This looked like a difficult matchup on paper but after seeing how easily the Cardinals defeated Tennessee, it’s a lot less daunting now.

These three teams were deemed as some of the most difficult teams on the Saints’ schedule but their Week 1 performances left fans feeling a lot better about the team’s chances against them.
