New Orleans Saints: NFC South standings heading into Week 1 of 2021
Falcons vs. Eagles – Sept. 12 (12:00 CST)
Unlike the previous game we discussed, this Falcons/Eagles one is probably going to be pretty gross. Both teams have their fair share of problems and with two rookie head coaches going toe-to-head, it should be interesting what happens in Atlanta even if it’s mostly sloppy play from both teams.
The Falcons are rolling with Matt Ryan once again and he hasn’t been the problem for them in recent years (though he’s not the same player he was in 2016 when he won league MVP). The defense has been dreadful and cost the team many big leads a season ago and the Falcons didn’t do much to address their defensive woes.
Both of these teams were in the Super Bowl in the past five years so it’s amazing to see how quickly both have dropped off since then. Saints fans will be pulling for Philadelphia in this one, especially since it’s a real possibility that the three divisional opponents could be 1-0 after Week 1, with the Saints having the toughest game.
The Falcons are three-point favorites ahead of this game according to WynnBet, which essentially means they’re the favorite because they’re the home team.
