I’ll admit when I was putting this piece together, I stopped at Week 17 out of habit. I’m not a huge fan of the 17-game schedule but hey — Money talks, so here we are.
The Saints’ first-ever Week 18 matchup will come against the hated Atlanta Falcons, who the good guys took care of in their earlier meeting. At this point of the season, the Falcons aren’t going anywhere while the Saints are still very much in the running for a playoff spot.
With that in mind, the Saints come out of the gates hot and put the Falcons away relatively early in this one with the hopes that the starters can come out of the game at some point.
Prediction: Saints 31, Falcons 17
Final Record: 10-7
The whole 10-7 think looks weird because we’re used to 10-6 or 9-7 but with the extra game, the Saints get to double-digit wins once again. This probably won’t be good enough to win the NFC South for the fifth straight year. That being said, Saints fans would probably be thrilled with a 10-7 record and a playoff berth.
