4 veteran free agents Saints should consider signing before Week 1
1. John Brown
The best free-agent option out there right now for the New Orleans Saints is John Brown, who requested to be released from the Raiders and got his wish. Now he’s waiting to sign with a different team and the Saints would be the perfect fit for the former Pitt State Gorilla.
Brown is only a year removed from going for over 1,000 yards with the Bills in 2019 and the Saints would love to have that kind of production from any of their receivers.
At this point, Marquez Callaway has shown that he can be a No. 1 threat in this offense but imagine pairing him up with Brown. The two would take the Saints’ receiving corps from bland to baller and it’d help Jameis Winston out tremendously as he adjusts to his new role.
Brown should be a hot commodity and why wouldn’t he be? He went for over 1,000 yards two seasons ago and a lot of offenses are still searching for a guy like that. Hopefully, he sees what the Saints are cooking up this offseason and wants to be a part of this offense.
