Kevin White gets another shot

It wasn’t stunning to see the Saints cut Kevin White on Tuesday. After all, he’s a former No. 7 overall pick who never looked like the player he was during his time at West Virginia.

New Orleans presented White with his final opportunity to make an NFL roster and while he didn’t get to the 53-man roster, he’s on the practice squad. This means that if there are injuries, specifically to wide receiver, White could have another chance to play during a regular-season game.

White was one of the many Saints punished the most by the cancelation of the final preseason game and it’s good to see him get another chance to stick on the team. He struggled in the one game he did receive playing time in and another game could have boosted his stock, but we’ll never know.

This doesn’t mean he’ll be with the team all year long but the Saints clearly see potential from the former first-round pick.
