New Orleans Saints: Wide receivers to target after roster cuts
Receivers for Saints to target – Geronimo Allison
Geronimo Allison first broke onto the scene as a rookie in the 2016 season with the Packers. Green Bay didn’t have a lot of receivers worth discussing that year but Allison became a fun player to watch.
While not a star by any means, Allison is exactly the kind of receiver the Saints would like to have as a depth piece. This past year, he totaled 287 yards and two touchdowns in what ended up being his final season with the Packers.
Allison, like Perriman, joined the Lions this offseason and clearly didn’t impress enough to stick on the roster, as he’s been released by the team.
Allison isn’t a superstar but the Saints aren’t looking for that at this point. The former Packer would provide them with a solid WR3/4 option who is capable of making big plays when called upon.
These three receivers are players the Saints should be looking at to add to their roster ahead of the 2021 season. Their receiver situation isn’t as bad as it once was, as we’ve now seen Callaway thrive on center stage.
With that said, however, the team shouldn’t settle with what they have at the position. Any of these guys would be an upgrade over some of the lower guys on the depth chart.
