The New Orleans Saints‘ preseason finale was supposed to take place on Saturday night against the Arizona Cardinals but was canceled due to Hurricane Ida. This was supposed to be the final chance for bubble roster players to make a big enough impression to land on the final roster.

Let’s dive into four Saints in particular who needed to show something in order to stick on the roster. A few of these might be a bit surprising but with poor performances and other players also standing out thus far, players who we thought were locks to make the roster might not fall into that category after all.

These players made this list because they’re close to a roster spot but needed to perform well on Saturday in order to keep it that way and now won’t have the opportunity to do so.

With stiff competition all around and players wanting to make sure they’re on the Saints’ final roster, this Saturday afternoon’s game was supposed to determine several players’ fates.
