Tight ends NOLA Saints should trade for – No. 2: David Njoku

The Browns are in the opposite situation that the Saints are in, as they’re ripe with talented tight ends. One option at the position who has never seemed to be a part of the Browns’ long-term plans is David Njoku, who the Browns spent a first-round pick on in 2017.

Cleveland opted to sign Austin Hooper last offseason and also has seen Harrison Bryant emerge as a potential lethal option at the tight end position, making Njoku expendable.

If Njoku is someone the Browns would seriously consider trading, the Saints would be a good landing spot for the former Miami Hurricane. His best sample size as to what he can do in the NFL came in 2018 when he hauled in 56 receptions for 639 yards and four touchdowns.

This is the final year of Njoku’s rookie deal, so the Browns could try and get whatever they can for their former first-round pick while they can before he hits the free-agent market. This could make him a more affordable option for the Saints, especially with Cleveland being set up well at the position.
