The New Orleans Saints faced the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night in their second preseason game of 2021. These four players had impressive nights and their stock increased as a result.

Two of these guys are still battling it out for roster spots while the other two were already going to make the team barring something strange. Being a lock to make the team doesn’t mean that a player’s stock can’t rise, however, so let’s get to the first guy on the list.

Saints whose stock rose – No. 4: Jalen Dalton

It was hard not to take notice of Jalen Dalton in this game, as the young standout from North Carolina was all over the field making his presence known.

The highlight from Dalton in this game was the play included with ESPN’s tweet above. On 3rd-and-10, Trevor Lawrence dropped back to pass and was met with Dalton in the backfield, good for a nine-yard loss.

It’s plays like these that help guys make the final roster and Dalton showed that he can make enough of a splash to stick around. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of role the Saints put him in when the season arrives (assuming he does indeed make the roster) but for now, his stock is definitely climbing.
