Saints who need to show something – No. 3: Trevor Siemian

The Saints entered training camp with four quarterbacks on the roster. We’re all familiar with Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill, who are battling it out for the starting job, but they only make up half of the quarterback depth chart.

The other two signal-callers for the Saints are fourth-round rookie Ian Book and perennial backup Trevor Siemian. This entry is dedicated to Siemian, who didn’t play a single snap in the Saints’ loss to Baltimore last Saturday night.

With there being four quarterbacks on the roster, one would have figured that each quarterback would play one quarter but wasn’t what happened. Book played the entire second half while Siemian hung out on the bench and didn’t get in on the action.

This isn’t a good sign for Siemian but he’s still on the roster, as of this writing. If he doesn’t see playing time against the Jaguars, however, then it’s possible Siemian will fall in the next round of roster cuts.
