Saints Bold Predictions – Ian Book outperforms Winston and Hill

The Saints spent a fourth-round pick on Notre Dame quarterback, Ian Book, and didn’t expect him to have any shot at starting this year. While that’s still going to be the case no matter what happens on Monday, it’s not crazy to think that Book could look better than both Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill.

Book played in the entire second half last week, tossing for 126 yards on nine completions while throwing an interception as well. He had the team-high in passing yards due to playing the most and he probably looked the best because he was playing against third and fourth string players.

Even with that being the case, after Monday’s game wraps up, NFL fans will all be wondering why Book isn’t in the competition to win the starting job. This will especially be true if he’s the only quarterback not to throw an interception or fumble the football, which, as we’ve seen, has been tough for Winston and Hill to avoid.

Maybe a third-string quarterback putting up better numbers than two guys who are battling it out for the starting job isn’t a bold prediction, but Book could make things interesting in the Big Easy with a solid performance on Monday night.
