Saints that fans hope prove them wrong – No. 4: Zack Baun
So far, things are looking good for Zack Baun, as he’s been really explosive throughout training camp and preseason. The Saints took Baun with their third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft with the hopes that he’d step into the linebacker room and be able to help Demario Davis thrive.
While Davis thrived last year, it wasn’t because of Baun, but rather Kwon Alexander joining the team midway through the season. Alexander is back but Baun has shown that he’s ready to help contribute on defense and he did that in the preseason opener on Saturday.
Zack Baun led the way defensively with an ELITE 93.2 OVR grade on his 31 snaps played!

Baun was a busy man, totaling:

The tweet above details how dominant of a night Baun had and Saints fans definitely took notice. He was flying all over the field in Baltimore and it was great to see but can he keep that up when the regular season kicks off in a few weeks?
Baun had a tough task this offseason, as the Saints drafted Pete Werner in the second round this year and that obviously lit a fire under the Wisconsin product. Now that he’s playing at a high level, Saints fans are excited to see if that continues and this defense can wreck offenses.
