Saints Sleepers in 2021 – No. 1: Marquez Callaway

The undrafted rookie out of Tennessee is on pace to have a breakout season and we got to see flashes of his potential throughout the 2020 season.

Marquez Callaway amassed 21 receptions, 213 yards, and a 77.8 catch percentage. With Michael Thomas looking to be sidelined and the release of Emmanuel Sanders, he will now have an increased role.

Training camp has also been very good to Callaway as he’s had a ton of praise. Fans should get to see even more from Callaway in the team’s preseason games.

Despite the retirement of Drew Brees, this offense will still look to pass the ball a lot. Callaway is on target to be the best pass catcher for the team until Michael Thomas comes back. His solid route running ability and exceptional hands have made him a likable target for both quarterbacks in training camp.

Though the rest of the league may not know who Callaway is, they will soon. Fans should be excited to see what Sean Payton has in store for Callaway in year two.
