The New Orleans Saints are off to Baltimore after wrapping up their final practice before their first preseason game. There were four takeaways from the latest practice so let’s dive right in.

New Orleans Saints – Takeaways from Practice

4. Easop Winston wowed

Even the biggest of Saints fans might not know who Easop Winston in and that’s not surprising. He went undrafted out of Washington State but was a great receiver there, totaling 970 yards and finding the end zone 11 times during the 2019 season.

Winston had what the media described as “the best catch of Saints camp so far” during Thursday’s practice. The catch consisted of Winston lunging and diving for a touchdown grab from Jameis Winston (as Mike Triplett notes, they’re not related).

Easop Winston probably wouldn’t have much of a shot to make a 53-man roster on most teams but the Saints are in a different situation. They don’t have many great options at receiver so if Winston continues to wow, this could absolutely pay off for him in the long run.

Having the catch of camp is no easy feat but Winston did just that and in doing so, upped his stock on the roster.
