The New Orleans Saints finished up their fourth practice of training camp and there was plenty to take away from it, especially during the media sessions. Some of the names to field questions from the media on Monday were Sean Payton, Marshon Lattimore, and newcomer Devonta Freeman.

Those guys all gave us plenty to talk about but we also got tweets from those who were allowed to attend practice. Through all of this, I came up with nine takeaways to discuss following the Saints’ fourth day of practice.

Let’s get to it!

New Orleans Saints training camp takeaways

9. “Cesar’s been balling”

Cesar Ruiz wasn’t the first-round pick that Saints fans were expecting in 2020 and an up and down rookie season didn’t help his lack of popularity amongst Saints fans.

Entering year two, Ruiz has been receiving an abundance of praise throughout training camp to this point. The latest praise thrown his way was from fellow starting offensive lineman Erik McCoy who said “Cesar’s been balling” when speaking to the media.

This is exactly what Saints fans want to hear, as Ruiz is one of the question marks on the o-line. McCoy, Terron Armstead, and Ryan Ramczyk have proven to be reliable, so if Ruiz can turn the corner and play to those guys’ level, it’ll be hard to get past this Saints offensive line.
