New Orleans Saints need to reach out to New York Jets

Like their in-state counterparts, the Jets have an impressive group of wide receivers and this came out of nowhere. It felt like Sam Darnold didn’t have any talent surrounding him while he was in the Big Apple but now suddenly, rookie quarterback Zach Wilson has all of the talent in the world at his disposal. Hmm.

Here are the big name receivers on the Jets’ roster:

  • Corey Davis
  • Denzel Mims
  • Jamison Crowder
  • Elijah Moore
  • Keelan Cole
  • Braxton Berrios

Out of this bunch, the name to look into would be Crowder, who Justin Fried has discussed the Saints trading for in the past. The issue, of course, is that Crowder might not fit in with what the Saints are looking for, as he’s a slot guy and that’s Smith’s role.

With that said, however, the Saints are in a tough spot and if the Jets are willing to send Crowder to New Orleans, it’d be hard to fault this trade taking place. The Jets have plenty of other talent on the roster that they could afford to part with Crowder or another one of their receivers and still be on decent terms.

The Saints can’t say the same thing. They need help at wide receiver desperately.
