New Orleans Saints need to reach out to Dallas Cowboys

Ideally, I’d like to put the Cowboys higher but since they’re in the NFC and the four remaining teams are in the AFC, I figured this was a good spot for them.

The Cowboys are no stranger to having a stacked wide receiver corps and these are the names they’re working with in 2021:

  • Amari Cooper
  • CeeDee Lamb
  • Michael Gallup

I didn’t bother putting anyone else on here because the name I’m really focusing on here is Gallup. For those of you who read my other articles, you’ll know that I’m hellbent on the Saints trying to trade for Gallup because it’d be the perfect trade for them.

Gallup is entering the final year of his contract with Dallas and if the Saints were to work out a trade and land him, they could either choose to extend him or cross that bridge at a later point. They wouldn’t necessarily need him past the 2021 season but Gallup is absolutely the kind of receiver that could fill Thomas’ shoes while he’s sidelined with an injury.

If the Cowboys weren’t interested in trading Gallup, they also have Cooper, who signed a five-year extension and is tied to the Big D through 2024. If they wanted to get that contract off the books and if the Saints were truly desperate enough, that could be a possibility too. I’d rather have Gallup but it’s tough to be picky at this point.
