New Orleans Saints need to reach out to the New York Giants

The Giants have quietly built a really nice wide receiver room in recent years. Once Daniel Jones figures it out (or maybe I should say if), he’ll have a wide array of options to throw to and that’s every quarterback’s dream.

Here are the top names at wide receiver for the Giants:

  • Darius Slayton
  • Kenny Golladay
  • Sterling Shepard
  • Kadarius Toney
  • John Ross

Okay, John Ross isn’t a feasible option here but he is someone the Giants took a flier on this offseason and we’ll see how that pans out for them. Toney also isn’t an option, as New York spent their first-round pick on him this year and it’s doubtful they’d be willing to part with him just months later.

The name to hone in on here is Shepard, who I’ve previously written about the Saints trying to trade for. He’s not a lethal WR1 option but at this point, it’s going to be really hard to find one of those.

Shepard is someone who can provide anywhere from 600 yards to 800 yards while averaging roughly four or five touchdowns. That’s production that the Saints would gladly take at this point.

If nothing else, it’s worth giving the Giants a call and seeing if they’d be interested in trading any of their receivers because they certainly have players to spare.
