New Orleans Saints who need a great camp – No. 1: Jameis Winston

This one seems obvious.

While the other three guys on this list aren’t fighting for their jobs this summer, Jameis Winston is doing just that. If he has a bad camp, Taysom Hill is waiting in the wings to snatch up a job that he claimed for four games last year (four games over Winston, at that).

What would it take for Winston to lose the starting job, which seems to be his for the taking at this point? Throwing a lot of interceptions and being careless with the football is the main thing to watch for with the former Buccaneers quarterback. That’s the reason he’s in New Orleans in the first place so not showing any kind of improvement in that department would be the worst thing for Winston moving forward.

Not only does Winston have to have a tremendous training camp, but he has to hope that Hill is lackluster and proves he can’t be a starting quarterback. A combination of these things would easily land Winston the starting job but if Winston struggles against his own team, then the decision at quarterback will become much trickier.

Taysom Hill could have also appeared on this list but with Winston being the favorite, it’s more important for Winston to perform well. Hill looking good means nothing if Winston is also tearing it up.
