As training camp creeps closer for the New Orleans Saints, these four players have to step up and give it everything they’ve got this summer. Whether it’s to save themselves from being listed as a bust or to land a mega-contract in free agency, these guys have to make a positive impression over the next month.

Let’s take a look at four members of the Saints who need to do well in training camp for a multitude of reasons.

New Orleans Saints who need a great camp – No. 4: Marshon Lattimore

It might seem a bit weird to include Marshon Lattimore here but he’s entering the final year of his rookie deal and it’s not looking likely that the Saints will extend him. Lattimore has been dealing with legal issues and that hasn’t helped his stock with the organization that spent a first-round pick on him in 2017.

This is Lattimore’s last chance to prove he’s worthy of an extension. He’ll be the highlight of an otherwise bleak cornerback room and a lousy summer could be the writing on the wall as far as his future in New Orleans goes.

The Saints already extended Ryan Ramczyk and with Terron Armstead and Marcus Williams also being extension candidates, Lattimore is running out of time to prove his worth. A strong camp from him would go a long way to ensuring that he remains with the Saints this season. A lousy camp, however, could lead to a surprising trade before the start of the regular season.
