Saints bandwagons to hop on – No. 2: Adam Trautman

It’s safe to say that Adam Trautman was one of the biggest disappointments on the Saints’ roster last year but the same could be said for most of the team’s tight ends.

Trautman, a third-round selection out of Dayton, didn’t do much of anything in his rookie season. The former Flyer appeared in 15 games last year and had just 15 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown, which isn’t exactly what the Saints were hoping for when they took him on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

All of that being said, Jared Cook and Josh Hill were both ahead of Trautman on the depth chart last year and neither of those guys are in the Big Easy anymore. That gives Trautman a chance to really up the ante when he takes the field as a second-year NFL tight end.

If Jameis Winston is the Saints’ starting quarterback, he is going to love having a weapon like Trautman, who weighs in at 6’5″ and 255 pounds. Trautman didn’t show much as a rookie but this is a whole new year for him and he could go from a virtually unknown name to a top-ten tight end in 2021.

Make sure you take a seat on the Adam Trautman bandwagon before the season begins, folks.
