College Quarterbacks Saints Fans Should Watch – No. 4: Carson Strong

Carson Strong is someone who, with a huge season, could find himself in the top 10 of the 2022 NFL Draft. With how quickly quarterbacks fly off the board in the draft, Strong could be this year’s Trey Lance who a team decides to move from just outside the top 10 to the top three for.

Strong was tremendous in 2020, tossing for 2,858 yards, 27 touchdowns, and four interceptions in nine games. Strong has a huge arm and has caught the attention of college football fans everywhere with the rocket launcher he has attached to him.

Of course, Nevada isn’t facing as tough of defenses, which helps Strong’s case but that shouldn’t be held entirely against him. We’re seeing non-Power-5 quarterbacks taken in the first round come into the NFL and ball out (Josh Allen immediately comes to mind) and Strong could be the next example of that.

If Strong charges up the draft boards and the Saints are in a position to draft him in the first or second round in 2022, they should absolutely look to do it.
