This year is going to answer a lot of questions as to what the New Orleans Saints‘ quarterback position will look like moving forward. If Jameis Winston and/or Taysom Hill struggle to lock down the starting job in 2021, the Saints might not only be looking for a new quarterback in 2022, but they might have the first-round draft spot to find their next signal-caller of the future.

With this in mind, Saints fans should take it upon themselves to watch out for these five college quarterbacks during the 2021 college football season.

College Quarterbacks Saints Fans Should Watch – No. 5: Matt Corral

Matt Corral is someone that college football fans have known about for a while and he’ll be a name to watch in the 2021 season. Corral is coming off a nice year at Ole Miss, throwing for 3,337 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions through 10 games.

This is an important year for Corral because it’s a chance for him to show that he can consistently be a reliable quarterback. He had his fair share of rough games last year but also made a huge turnaround with Lane Kiffin as his head coach.

The 14 interceptions Corral threw in 10 games is a blemish on his stat sheet and that’s definitely something he needs to improve on this year. If he can’t cut back on the turnovers, his draft stock won’t elevate much in the 2022 NFL Draft.

With a truly dominant season, however, Corral could find himself as a first-round quarterback and the Saints might be interested in selecting him.
