Saints: 3 free agents who could still help the team in 2021

Free Agents that could help the Saints – No. 1: K.J. Wright
The linebacking core of the Saints has some question marks surrounding it for the upcoming season. They have the elite talent of Demario Davis, but there are many question marks other than that.
Now second-year pro-Zack Baun has potential but barely played last year and is a potential liability in coverage. Second-round draft pick Pete Werner also has tons of potential, but he is just a rookie.
This is where bringing in a guy like K.J Wright comes in. Wright has not been a popular name as he was in the shadow of Bobby Wagner for most of his career but the 6’4″ linebacker has been a tackling machine his entire career. Wright also possesses good coverage and playmaking skills. He has good eyes and awareness, which allows him to be a beast on the field.
If Wright signed with the Saints, it would give the team much more certainty in what they’re getting from their linebackers in 2021. It would also allow either Baun or Werner to learn more from the bench while still getting some snaps in and would provide another mentor to pair with Demario Davis for these young linebackers.
Fans saw what bringing in another linebacker in Kwon Alexander did for the team last year and we could see the same potential rise in defense with signing K.J. Wright.
Any of these free agents would be a welcomed addition to the New Orleans Saints and would help the team compete for a playoff spot in 2021.
