Saints Roster: 3 players to extend now that Ryan Ramczyk is taken care of

Players to extend on Saints roster – No. 2: Terron Armstead
In a perfect world, the Saints’ next extension they get done is with left tackle Terron Armstead but it just seems unlikely. Left tackles aren’t cheap and Armstead would definitely be the most expensive option out of this bunch, which is why I put him at No. 2.
Even with that being the case, if there’s any way the Saints can afford to keep Armstead, then they obviously need to do it. Shoring up both bookends on the offensive line is the best way to ensure this unit stays at the top of the pack and Armstead and Ramczyk have been two of the best in the league at their positions so keeping them together would be ideal.
LT Terron Armstead is probably going to expect the same treatment as RT Ryan Ramczyk in a contract extension. Ramczyk is now the NFL's highest paid RT. Making Armstead the league highest paid LT would mean an average of more than Trent Williams' $23.01M per year.

Armstead isn’t going to come cheap though. The highest-paid left tackle in the league right now is Trent Williams of the 49ers, who is signed to a five-year deal worth $138 million. That’s the going rate for left tackles and the Saints might not be able to match what Armstead is going to get offered in free agency next year.
It’d be wonderful if the Saints could keep Armstead in the black and gold uniforms he’s grown accustomed to but at the same time, they’d be breaking the bank to do so. Keeping one tackle was step one and they checked that off the list.
