Saints need Alvin Kamara to stay healthy

There’s a strong case for Alvin Kamara to be No. 1 on this list and I’d absolutely understand why people would make those cases. I put him second because running back isn’t as important as it once was.

That being said, Kamara is one of the most important players on the Saints’ team, especially with them entering the post-Brees era where the quarterback position is no longer necessarily a strength on the team. Kamara has won the Saints a lot of games during his time with the team and losing him to injury would be an unfortunate blow.

Despite playing a position where injuries are more common, Kamara hasn’t missed much time due to injury. For this upcoming season, he’s listed as a three in terms of durability per Sports Injury Predictor and has an 82% chance of getting injured at some point during the 2021 season.

The Saints have a dependable backup in Latavius Murray and that, paired with running back not being as important as it once was, and that’s why Kamara is second on this list. That doesn’t mean fans want to see what life is like without him though.
