Saints need Cameron Jordan to stay healthy

There isn’t a player more important to the defensive side of the ball than Cameron Jordan. The former first-round pick out of California has been a huge contributor to the Saints’ resurge on defense, notching double-digit sacks in five of his 10 seasons with the team.

This past year was another impressive one for Jordan, as he totaled 51 tackles, 16 quarterback hits, and 7.5 sacks. After the Saints couldn’t retain Trey Hendrickson this offseason, it’s even more important for Jordan to stay healthy and be a prescence in this Saints’ pass rush.

Fortunately, Jordan has been plenty durable during his decade-long career. In 10 years with the Saints organization, he’s played in all 16 games in every single season and has not started a game once during his career, which came as a rookie in 2011.

The Saints haven’t had to experience what life is like without Jordan and they’re hoping that continues in 2021. Not having Hendrickson on defense is a big blow and Jordan needs to make up for losing that production.
