Toughest TEs on New Orleans Saints Schedule: No. 1 – Kyle Pitts

It might seem insane to have a rookie tight end as my No. 1 entry on this list but that’s how good Kyle Pitts is going to be in the NFL. He went No. 4 overall for a reason and unfortunately for Saints fans, the Falcons are the lucky team who landed Pitts in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Pitts, a 6’6″, 245 pound tight end out of Florida, completely demolishes defenders, or at least he did at the collegiate level. He had 43 receptions for 770 yards and an incredible 12 touchdowns last year for the Gators and is looking to bring that kind of production to Atlanta.

Pitts makes the Falcons’ offense even scarier, especially if Julio Jones isn’t traded and they have Pitts, Jones, and Calvin Ridley at Matt Ryan’s disposal. Ugh.

When looking at Pitts’ 2020 performances, the one that stands out the most by far is his Week 1 domination over Ole Miss. Pitts curb-stomped the Rebels defense to the tune of eight receptions for 170 yards and FOUR touchdowns. Yes, college football is easier for offensive skill players than it is in the NFL but those numbers are absurd.

Here’s to hoping Pitts doesn’t bulldoze the Saints secondary when he meets up with them twice a year for at least the next half decade.

dark. Next. 3 New Players to Worry About in NFC South

The tight ends on the New Orleans Saints’ schedule aren’t frightening but these three stood above the rest. Two of the three included here will play the Saints multiple times too considering they’re in the NFC South.

The Saints defense better bring their A-game when facing these three players because they can do serious damage if not stopped.
