Toughest TEs on New Orleans Saints Schedule: No. 2 – Dallas Goedert

Both of the Eagles’ tight ends honestly could have appeared on this list but I went with Dallas Goedert over Zac Ertz since Goedert was never a potential trade candidate. He’ll likely become the new TE1 in Philly and while his numbers haven’t been eye popping to this point, that is expected to change in Goedert’s fourth year at the helm.

Goedert’s 2020 season went well, as he hauled in 46 receptions for 524 yards and three touchdowns. These numbers are impressive considering the quarterback drama taking place in Philadelphia last season and the fact that he only started nine games in 2020.

Goedert’s best game was in Week 1 against Washington. He caught eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown in an eventual Eagles loss. When Goedert and the Eagles met up with the Saints late in the season last year, he didn’t have a huge game, but fared decently with four catches for 43 yards and averaging 10.75 yards per reception.

Saints fans probably aren’t scared of Goedert entering the season but he really is someone who could have a breakout season and become a similar player to what Ertz was during his prime. Hopefully, the Saints secondary can contain him if he does indeed become this kind of player in 2021.
