Free Agents for New Orleans Saints – No. 3: K.J. Wright

The Saints’ linebacker position leaves a lot to be desired, as they have Demario Davis, Zack Baun, and second-round pick Pete Werner as their starters heading into the season. Davis is the only sure thing and Saints fans know what he can do, but Baun disappointed as a rookie, which is the main reason why Werner was selected where he was.

With that said, New Orleans could look to add another body at linebacker for camp and there isn’t a better option in free agency right now than K.J. Wright. Somehow, Wright is still a free agent and maybe it’s because of his potential price tag or his age (he’ll be 32 in July) but the guy is still a hard hitter and the Saints need that at the linebacker position.

Wright has spent his entire 10-year career in Seattle and has put together one heck of a resumé. He’s coming off a season in which he totaled 86 tackles (11 for loss), 10 defended passes, and two sacks, showing he still has it, even in his early 30s.

The Saints need help at linebacker and Wright would be the perfect addition to pair with Davis in the starting roles. This could also be a move that helps Baun and Werner down the road because they could learn a lot from Wright.
