3 takeaways from the Saints’ 2021 schedule
Saints 2021 Schedule Takeaway No. 2: More primetime games than expected
If I’m being entirely honest, I didn’t expect the Saints to get much respect from the schedule-makers but they were given their due diligence, being awarded five primetime games this year. They have two Thursday night games, one Sunday night game, and two Monday night games, and the reason for the multiple Thursday night games is that one is taking place on Thanksgiving night.
Here are the primetime games for New Orleans in 2021:
- Week 7 at Seahawks (MNF)
- Week 12 vs Bills (Thanksgiving “SNF”)
- Week 13 vs Cowboys (TNF)
- Week 15 at Buccaneers (SNF)
- Week 16 vs Dolphins (MNF)
The Thanksgiving game against the Bills is the game I’m most looking forward to in 2021 and the Saints are no stranger to playing on Turkey Day. In fact, this will be their third Thanksgiving showdown in the past four years.
The Saints not only have three home primetime games but every single one of these games is against a beatable team. They’ll probably be the underdog in the two away games but if Jameis Winston plays well and the Saints are a good team throughout the season, they should be favored in the other three games.
