They have a rookie head coach and quarterback in Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson respectively. The New York Jets enter the 2021 NFL season in what seems like the 20th year of a rebuild that never ends.
Statements like the following should never be made about an NFL team, but the Jets realistically have no shot at raising the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the 2021-2022 campaign.
They’re scheduled for a road date with the Saints. Let’s restate what we just said. Joe Douglas’ guys are lucky that they aren’t sending a bad roster into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, one of the league’s most intense home-field advantages, with a rookie head coach and rookie quarterback to face a solid Saints team that’s led by one of the great coaching minds in the NFL.
